Prepare For Your Hike With A Tactical Backpack

Hiking certainly is one of the most preferred outdoor activities in the whole world.

What To Wear

Summer:

If you plan to go hiking during summer then your hiking gear should be made of synthetic fiber like polyamide or polyester. First wear a comfortable innerwear, a short-sleeved top, and three-quarter leggings would be perfect. Follow it up with comfortable trousers and zip-up jacket. Wear liner socks, and carry one extra pair with you.

Winter:

For winter hiking, you need to wear full-length leggings and full sleeve thermal top over your innerwear. The second layer should be woolen turtleneck or full sleeve fleece jacket. Over your leggings, wear pants that are thick enough to keep you protected from cold and is also water resistant. You should carry along a jacket that will keep you safe from rain and cold. Also, wear wool socks and gloves, and carry an extra pair of each.

Autumn and Spring:

Your base layer should be a non-cotton top, and wearing leggings is just optional, depending on whether you are feeling cold or no. Your second layer should include a weatherproof insulated jacket and full-length pants. Carry along a fleece jacket and do not forget to wear two pair of socks, synthetic, followed by woolen.

The below given checklist includes most of them items, but remember, neither is this absolutely compulsory nor exhaustive. There can be some deletions and additions from this list depending on the people involved, the time and place of hiking, and other conditions.

  • Antihistamine tablets, prescribed lotions and medications
  • Anti-venom to keep you protected from bites and stings
  • Blister pads

  • Medicinal tapes, splints and coatings
  • Adhesives and bandages
  • Wrapping pads, band aid and antiseptic creams

General Item Checklist:

  • Water
  • Snow glasses, sunglasses
  • Flashlight and extra batteries
  • Insect repellant
  • Rain wear, windbreaker, poncho
  • Lighters/matches
  • Pen knife/Swiss knife
  • Toilet paper
  • Compass
  • Caps/hats
  • Camera with extra batteries
  • Plastic bags (to carry wastes)
  • Sketch pad, pencil/pen
  • Binoculars
  • Energy snacks and lunch
  • Notepad/diary/journal
  • Trekking/hiking poles
  • Maps of the location
