This outdoor activity has become so popular because – it allows hikers to enjoy nature, have fun time with friends and family, and helps them stay physically active. If you are going hiking for the first time, there are certain things you need to know before you start, and we shall now get to discover the same.
What To Wear
If you plan to go hiking during summer then your hiking gear should be made of synthetic fiber like polyamide or polyester. First wear a comfortable innerwear, a short-sleeved top, and three-quarter leggings would be perfect. Follow it up with comfortable trousers and zip-up jacket. Wear liner socks, and carry one extra pair with you.
For winter hiking, you need to wear full-length leggings and full sleeve thermal top over your innerwear. The second layer should be woolen turtleneck or full sleeve fleece jacket. Over your leggings, wear pants that are thick enough to keep you protected from cold and is also water resistant. You should carry along a jacket that will keep you safe from rain and cold. Also, wear wool socks and gloves, and carry an extra pair of each.
Autumn and Spring:
Your base layer should be a non-cotton top, and wearing leggings is just optional, depending on whether you are feeling cold or no. Your second layer should include a weatherproof insulated jacket and full-length pants. Carry along a fleece jacket and do not forget to wear two pair of socks, synthetic, followed by woolen.
